The Colorado Springs Branch (CSB) is a regional medical campus focused on the core clinical year of medical education. CSB students start and finish at the Anschutz Medical Campus where they participate in the preclinical and post‐clerkship phases of the Trek curriculum. Students transition to the CSB at the start of their second year to complete their longitudinal integrated clerkship (LIC) year in Colorado Springs and surrounding Southern Colorado communities such as Pueblo, Monument, Woodland Park, and Cañon City. Through collaboration with our community partners, hundreds of preceptors and patients, CSB students work in multiple health systems to understand the interface between academic and community medicine, and experience the mosaic of private, corporate, military, non‐profit, and public service organizations that come together to care for a community. CSB students participate in a curriculum focused on how physician leadership in quality improvement and community engagement can impact health equity. We hold wellness and self-care as a core value, striving to keep students and preceptors healthy and happy while working toward clinical excellence. The CSB welcomed its first class of 24 students in 2016 and with the support and enthusiasm of our community we will grow to 30 students with the Class of 2028! Striving for continuous improvement anchored by our strong community connection brings fuel to our branch as we always look into the future to see where we can grow from here!
